Who are you and why should I trust you?
We are 1mal1japan.de – Germany’s most visited website on Japanese cuisine. We have been running this website since May 2016 and this online shop since August 2019, as we became increasingly frustrated with the product range offered by the major, well-known online shops. That is why we took matters into our own hands. We want to offer you authentic, high-quality Japanese food, which we have put together in ready-made cooking sets so that you can start cooking your favourite Japanese dishes straight away.
We are 100% convinced by our selection – otherwise it wouldn’t be on our own shelves – but above all, we want you to love our range. If you’re not yet convinced, why not read a few reviews of us here.
Do you also have a physical shop?

How are the products in the Shop selected?
As you may have noticed, we offer one variety of each product. So you won’t find three types of rice or five types of soy sauce here, leaving you torn between them – even though you don’t know what each variety tastes like.
We select the products in the Shop based on four criteria to offer you the best cooking and taste experience. The criteria are: 1. outstanding taste, 2. genuine authenticity, 3. reasonable price and 4. good availability. We only add a product to our range if all four criteria are met.
Why should I order from you and not from Amazon?
We also offer some of our products on Amazon. There isn’t much difference; delivery times etc. are the same. However, you’ll pay a little more on Amazon, as we have to pay Amazon’s commission there.
A product is currently out of stock. What should I do?
We naturally always try to keep a good stock of all products. As we receive goods every 14 days, a product may be temporarily out of stock – demand is sometimes difficult to predict. You can therefore simply check the stock again at a later date. Alternatively, you can also contact us directly here or call us (+49 (0) 351 89676609 – contact via WhatsApp is possible). We can then tell you more precisely when your desired item will be available again.

I would like to cancel my order. What should I do?
If you wish to cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible using the contact form or by telephone on +49 (0) 351 89676609 (Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm).
If you have already received your items, you can cancel your order within 30 days of delivery. Please let us know immediately and return the goods to us. As soon as we have received them, we will refund the money to you via the same method you used to pay, minus the delivery costs.
Do I have to pay the return costs myself if I cancel my order?
No, in the event of a cancellation, you do not have to bear the costs of returning the goods to us yourself. You only have to pay the shipping costs if you are not returning the goods from Germany.
I would like to purchase larger quantities for my kitchen/restaurant/company party; can you arrange that?
Yes, that’s no problem! To do this, we need the exact quantities and the delivery date and location. Please get in touch with us via the contact form or on +49 (0) 351 89676609 (Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm). You’re also welcome to reach us via WhatsApp.
Do you stock X as well? How do I report missing products?

Why are you more expensive than some other Shops?
We only offer products that we ourselves believe in. Some of these are more expensive than alternative products. We also place great emphasis on fast dispatch, long best-before dates and personal service. To achieve this, we cannot and do not wish to undercut every price available online.
(2) Dispatch and delivery
How long does it take for my order to be dispatched?
As a rule, your goods will be dispatched within two to four working days. As soon as we have handed them over to the delivery service, we will send you an email with a tracking number, which you can use to track your parcel.
What delivery options are available? And how much does it cost?
In Germany, we ship via DHL – and for orders over €59, delivery is free of charge; otherwise, it costs €6.90 per order. We ship via GoGreen, which means our deliveries are carbon-neutral! International shipping is currently available to Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Spain, the Czech Republic and Austria via DHL. The cost is €6.90; for orders over €79, we offer free international shipping.
We also ship to Switzerland. The flat-rate cost for this is €29.99. The goods must still be cleared through customs in Switzerland, for which we do not cover the costs. However, orders are dispatched by us net, i.e. excluding VAT.
If your country is not listed, simply get in touch with us and we will try to add it.
Can orders also be sent to Packstations?
Yes! If you select DHL as your delivery provider, we also send to Packstations. Please always enter your Packstation number in the ‘Company name / DHL Packstation number (optional)’ field.
