What is the Hot Pot Soup Base Umami & Mushroom?
This soup base from Lee Kum Kee brings the deep umami flavour of Asian mushroom broths straight into your kitchen. Made from shiitake and button mushroom extracts, it offers a particularly full-bodied, harmoniously savoury aroma – ideal for anyone looking for a mild yet flavourful alternative to spicy hot pot broths. How do I use the soup base?
Simply mix the contents of the packet with approx. 500–600 ml of water and bring to the boil briefly – your hotpot broth is ready. The Umami Mushroom Base goes particularly well with ingredients such as tofu, enoki mushrooms, pak choi, Chinese cabbage or glass noodles. The 60 g pack is enough for approx. 2–3 servings, depending on the ingredients. Ideal for small hotpot gatherings or as a stock base for ramen or udon.
Is it vegetarian or vegan?
The Umami Mushroom stock is plant-based and contains no animal ingredients. It is therefore also suitable for a vegetarian or vegan diet – provided the accompanying ingredients are also purely plant-based.
